I hope you are all having a lovely relaxing day as Sundays should be. I have definitely had a quiet weekend that's for sure. Which has been most needed. Especially as I still seem to suffering from headaches. It is most annoying. But I am having my eyes tested next weekend to perhaps see if my glasses need changing.So we shall see,I don't know what else it could be...
We all love to find new brands of beauty products to try & as you may have guessed now I love to do that! A new brand I have come across is a brand called Mary Kay. You may not have heard of this brand before as I didn't really know much about it but I am so glad I now have!
Mary Kay Ash set up the brand after retiring from a successful carer in direct sales. She also wrote a few of her books to help women survive in the male dominated business world. So she is one independent, empowering woman & I love women like that! Her first shop opened in 1963 in Texas & since then the company has grown & grown. Over the years Mary Kay also started employing sales teams from around the world to help make the company grow & help women become independent at their own businesses even more!
There is literally something for everyone in the range of products that they do. They cover make up, skin care, body & sun care, fragrance & even a range for men.
So I started out with a few bits from different collections to see what they were like...
Gel Semi Matte Lipstick - Colours: Always Apricot & Powerful Pink
The gel semi matte lipstick is the first full coverage lipstick by Mary Kay which has a gel like texture to make the colour last for hours. It leaves your lips feeling well moisturised & not at all dry & chapped like some lipsticks do. They come in 8 different shades so there really is a colour for everyone & to suit your moods or season. There are some brighter colours or also more nude colours. I find when you don't wear much make up just by wearing a brighter lip colour it can really make you face seem more fresh & just give it that pop. The lipstick glides on so easily & makes your lips feel soft & supple. Also the packaging is so easy on the eye! It also come with a clear top window which makes it easier to find what shade you are looking for without having to take the top off it. There is nothing worse than hunting through your lipsticks trying to
find the right colour you are looking for.
True Dimensions - Colour: Flamenco Red
Like its name suggests this lipstick does add dimension & contour to your lips. It also adds fullness, plumpness & firmness. Like the Gel semi matte lipstick this does also go on so smoothly & makes your lips feel moisturised. It does also contain advanced skin care ingredients which helps to smooth fine lines. The packaging of the lipstick is like nothing I have seen before too. You simply push the clear window at the top & the lipstick drops down. It's such a stylish & unique casing. The Flamenco Red shade is slightly pigmented I have found & has a shimmer to it but I love that! It doesn't make the colour as bold & sharp I found.
Be Delighted Limited Edition - Body Mousse & Body Wash
I love bath products I am such a sucker for buying them because I know they will always get used & because I love lovely smelling products to make you smell nice. The Be delighted collection is a sweet scent which I love because my favourite scents are the more sweeter ones. The products from this collection also add a shimmer to your skin which is perfect for those summer months when you have a tan! Not to mention the packaging of this collection with the cute polka dots!
Enchanted Wish Eau De Toilette
This collection is such a pleasant one I love it! The perfume is definitely a great everyday use one. With its fruity floral scent. It smells so gorgeous. The fragrance is not overpowering & sharp it is just enchanting. The packaging just like the rest of the Mary Kay products I love! It certainly fits with its name. With its flower shape lid in a lovely purple shade. This collection also now does an limited edition shower gel & body lotion. But sadly I'm not able to use perfumed bath products on my skin because it makes my skin come up in a rash & become itchy. But if they smell anything like the perfume they will smell devine!
Compact Mini & Mineral Cheek Colour Duo - Colour: Ripe Watermelon
It is such a good idea this product! This is a mini compact which opens up to a mirror & also two spaces to put your own choice of products to make up your own mini compact of your favourite lip, eye or cheek colours! It's so handy to put in your hand bag for you to top up your make up & not have to carry every large make up palette or compacts with you. The best thing is you can personalise it & make it yourself by adding whatever colours or product you want to it. So for myself I got the mineral cheek colour duo. Simply because throughout the day I feel like I lose the colour from my face like the blusher & then feel washed out. So I thought it would be handy to have something you could carry a small blusher around in so you can top it up. Although the colours seemed harsh in the duo they weren't that bright. Which I am glad about because I did worry when I saw just how bright the pink was.
I am definitely impressed with this brand. Especially the quality of the products, the colours, scents & not to mention the lovely packaging of them which I think does make a difference because they certainly catch your eye!
