Be Glow - Skinsense Sonic Cleansing Brush

A perfect christmas gift idea I came across for skincare lovers is from Be Glow.

I have the Pura skinsense sonic cleansing brush & since I started to use it I would not use anything else to help when I cleanse my face.

The Pura removes impurities and make up residue more effectively. It is a small size which is also perfect for traveling as it also comes in a pouch to carry. It has been some time since I've actually sat down & wrote a blog post or done anything blog related i have to say! I have become so so bad at getting motivated & also finding the time. Things in my life have been so busy so my blog seems to have taken a back burner recently but I really need to get back to it & get myself more organised!

Through out my break of blogging I have been trying out yet another skin care brand ; Tropic Skincare.

Vitamin Toner - Pore Refining Mist

The toner is packed with organic rose water which has mild astringent properties, Aloe Vera & Cucumber Juices. It helps give you skin an instant refreshed feeling. It is packed with vitamins & amino acids which help to balance your skins PH level & reduce your pore sizes.

To use you:
*Spray the toner all over your face & neck

Skin Truth Skin Care

I hope you have all had a good week & weekend. 
Time seems to be going so quickly! But good news is I am off work for the week yay.

Recently I've started using a new brand of skincare goodies "Skin Truth". I had previously heard of them through being a beautician as I have used some of their products while training & things. But I had never tried the skin care products on myself. I had looked at them when going to Pro Beauty at the Excel but never actually brought the skin care range.

So I thought I would bite the bullet & try some out for myself. As it's always good finding new products which work well on your skin.

Skin Truth is a professional beauty range which includes advanced ingredients while giving a enhanced salon experience. All their products are also Paraben, Sulphate & Mineral oil free. They literally also have a range to suit everyone for everything from skin care, to manicure products to aromatherapy goods. You can purchase them from Salons who stock them, from beauty shows, to beauty trade shops or even online to try them for yourself. But I am literally so impressed with the range of products they have to offer.

My skin type is pretty much combination. Simply because I can have oily areas to my face & in places it can become dry also.
So from the skincare range the best is the "Equalising". This range helps to balance your moisture levels while using natural ingredients. It helps to even your skin tone & equalise your oils in your skin to give you a healthy complexion. Which we all love. 
They contain Orange Blossom which helps to heal delicate skin, Ginger extract to help balance the skin's oil production. 

So from the Equalising range I got 3 products to try:

Toner - This helps to clarify & refresh your skin. It is perfect for using daily on your face to help remove any oil, traces of make up.It is a soft & light product which should really be included in your daily skin care routine. Especially when it is so easy to use. You just apply it to a damp cotton wool pad & apply it to your face & neck making sure you avoid the eye & lip area. 

Mud Mask - I absolutely love a face mask. There is nothing better than sitting with a face mask on your face & washing it off & your skin feeling super smooth, soft & glowing after it. I think they are such an important product for a skincare routine. This mask is enriched with dead sea mud which helps to purify your complexion by removing any impurities & excess oil. You apply it to clean skin & coat your face & neck with the mask. Then leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with water & dry your face.

Velvet Soft Facial Serum - I will admit I don't always use a serum or a facial oil on my face everyday. It's just not something I have used daily of my face until recently because I do have oily areas to my face I have to be careful what kind of serum or facial oil I use as they can make my skin more oily. This serum helps to restore natural radiance to your skin. This serum is suitable for all skin types, it is enriched with Acerola & rose extracts which help to replenish & moisturise the skin. 

The quality of these products are amazing & they are literally value for money. You do get salon quality for such a good price. I cannot wait to try more of their products! One of my favourite products from my skincare range is a hot cloth cleanser. It literally is my go to product. I currently use No 7 & swear by it but I might have to try the Skin Truth one & see what it is like.

Super Facialist

I hope you are all well?
I am starting to recover from my operation which I had on Saturday morning. I am slowly getting myself back to normal. I have felt a bit uncomfortable since then but with the medication, painkillers & of course time to recover I will get there. It of course needed to be done so it was for the best right?

After my few days in hospital I came home & felt so horrible. Like even my skin felt dry & I just didn't feel clean in myself. So a few days after & I have said to myself that I need to get back into a proper skin care routine & get my skin back so It is better. I think the lack of sleep, attention & things made it a bit neglected. 

As you all know I love finding new skin care products & trying them out. There is nothing better than finding a good skincare product that actually works & make you feel better in your own skin & also improve its condition. 

Super Facialist by Una Brennan is an affordable skin care range that will not break your bank & gives you good results! It is great quality for money.

Una Brennan is a London based facialist who won over celebrities like Sienna Miller & Laura Bailey with her facials just by word of mouth in Notting Hill. It was from there she built up her reputation. Then in 2012 Una launched her Super Facialist range with Boots. 

In the range she has developed there is literally something for everyone no matter what your skin type! Whether you want to hydrate your skin, brighten it, use something with anti-ageing properties there is literally something for you.

I have recently tried out:

Salicylic Acid - Anti Blemish Pore Purifying Clay Mask

I am a huge fan of clay masks. I have used different ones for a while now & I really like them because I feel like they really detox your skin. This clay mask helps to clear out the dirt, excess oils & any toxins from the skin. It is these 3 main reasons why we get breakouts. This mask contains Salicylic Acic which is proven to help clear clogged skin, enhance your skin with vitamin B3 which is also in the mask. Then of course dead sea mask mud which absorbs all the oils from the skin. Which helps give you the perfect detox mask to carry out at home. Not only that but it also contains many other vitamins which are great for your skin.


It is best to use this mask like 1-2 times a week as products like this can end up drying out your skin otherwise.Then:

*Apply a generous amount of product to cleansed skin

*Leave on for 5 minutes

*Then rinse with warm water

If you do like this mask there is also two other products in this range the Purifying facial wash & also purifying & refresh face scrub.


Rose Hydrate - Miracle Makeover Facial Oil

When it comes to using facial oils on myself I have to be careful because some facial oils can leave my skin feeling oily for some time afterwards. As my skin can be oily in places as it is so this is not a good look. But after trying this one out I have to say it has to be one of my new favourites. 

This oil is a highly nourishing pre cleanse treatment oil which contains avocado & carrot oils. Which are packed with vitamins & also hydrating. It also contains Raspberry oil which is known to be high in Omega 3 & 6. It helps to hydrate, calm skin & is also great for even sensitive skin. The smell of it is also gorgeous it helps assist eliminating purities from skin while it also helps with natural skin cell regeneration. So it definitely has a lot of great properties for helping the skin.

To use it all you do is:

*Apply the oil as a pre cleanse treatment

*Pour a generous amount of oil into the palm of your hand

*Rub your hands together to help to warm up the oil

*Slowly massage the product with circular movements onto your face, neck & chest

*Let the oil dissolve & then wipe clean with a damp flannel before cleansing


Vitamin C+ Brighten Glow Boost Skin Serum

Vitamin C is needed to help give you that youthful glow & to help against ageing. So it is important for the skin.

This serum is concentrated & is a supercharged brightening serum. It contains Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid & also an effective skin lightening algae extract which helps to replenish, boost the collagen & also improve the appearance of your skin to leave it looking brighter, more radiant & also more youthful looking by boosting the collagen. So it definitely gives your skin that boost that it needs to look & feel more brighter.  

To use it you simply:

*Apply serum before using your day/night cream

*Massage a pea size amount into cleansed skin

Reveal The Results With Perricone MD

Well that is the dreaded Monday over & done with! Yayyyyyy!
Is it me or do you get that feeling when you feel like you are going to have a busy & stressful week?I really do feel like this is going to be one of those dreaded weeks. But hey positive thinking we shall see!

Recently I have been taking part in a 30 Day trial of skin care products by Perricone MD. 

For those of you who don't know about Perricone MD. 
Dr Perricone who set up the brand is regarded as the father of the inflammation theory of ageing. After years of research Dr Perricone came to the conclusion that cellular inflammation maybe the underlying cause of wrinkles. Not only that but he was also an author of 3 New York time sellers. He believes inflammation is not the redness that is visible to the naked eye but more the irritation that takes place in your cells leading to cellular damage. He believes that this inflammation is responsible for skin-related problems like breakouts, wrinkles & loss of 
firmness. 

The products I have been testing are products especially built to help people with the type of skin I have & also have the same type of skin concerns as me. I have a more combination skin type. I can have oily areas mainly my t-zone area, I do also get a few clogged pores around my nose area & can from time to time have a break out. But this isn't as often as I used to when I was younger. My skin is so much better than it used to be but I think it's age which has helped improve it & I pay more attention on my skin care routine now than I used to when I was a teenager.

I have been using two main products:

Perricone MD - Blue Plasma - Gentle Daily Peel
This Blue Plasma gentle daily peel is designed to leave you with radiant youthful looking skin. It also minimises enlarged looking pores & helps to promote the skins ability to retain moisture. 
The gentle daily peel is easy to use too! You simply:

*Apply 2-3 drops to cleansed skin.
*Smooth it all over your face
*Leave it a few moments, there is no need to rinse.
*Then apply a Perricone MD treatment & then moisturiser.




This gently daily peel you are advised to use daily on a continuous basis. However I started doing as it said & using it on a daily basis but I found the daily peel started to dry my skin out a lot especially around my nose area. So I did have to stop using it everyday & lessen it down to 2-3 times a week instead. But I can have sensitive skin around my nose. It seemed to really dry it out & made my skin flake but after changing the amount I used it, it did help let my skin go back to normal. But I have noticed that it has made my pores on my nose less visible than it was & the appearance of my skin looking more clearer.

Perricone MD - Face Finishing Moisturiser 
This is a lightweight moisturiser for you face which is packed with antioxidants to help firm your skin & minimise any fine line & wrinkles. It also helps your skin become radiant & smooth, plus it also contains vitamin C which can be ideal for people with sun damaged skin as it helps minimise discolouration.
To apply the moisturiser you:

*Take a pearl size amount & apply to cleansed skin
*Use your fingertips to apply the moisturiser to your face & neck & apply in circular motions.
*Use in the morning & also evening.

It is recommended for normal to dry skin & has a rose like scent to it. I found the moisturiser to be lovely & thick & you truly do only need a small amount because it does go a long way. Most moisturisers I have found leave your skin feeling greasy after applying it & they do not seem to sink in to your skin. But with the Perricone MD moisturiser I found it does dry out nice to your skin & does not leave it looking oily & greasy after use. It has also left my skin feeling a lot softer than normal & also more radiant.

I have been using it alongside the:

Blue Plasma cleansing skincare treatment

This is great for removing make up, dirt or skin ageing debris. It helps to leave your skin feeling smooth, clean & more radiant. I have been using this cleanser everyday & you can notice the dirt it pulls from the skin. I was lucky enough to be able to try this as it was one of my products from my love me beauty subscription.
All you have to do with the cleanser is:

*Apply the cleanser to a cotton pad

*Smooth the pad over your face to help remove the impurities.

*Use morning & night.

After my 30 day trial of Perricone MD I will say I would love to try out more products from the brand because I do feel like they have made an improvement to my skin. Even if it did dry the skin out to my nose slightly. After ensuring that the areas were well moisturised it helped pick my skin back up.

All Natural Skin Care

Well me keeping up with my blog posts this week has not really happened has it?
I've had such an eventful week, I went to A&E Tuesday afternoon as I was still feeling unwell & in pain & 8 hours later I was being asked to go to another local hospital which specialises in that area at 2am in the morning for an emergency operation that morning. But after some decisions by the doctors for now that didn't happen & I am to be reviewed in the next few weeks to see how things are going.
It has been such a week & I am absolutely wiped out you could say. 

So I have the chance to do another post while I am resting on the sofa I thought I'd take the opportunity to.

My favourite kind of skincare products are ones which are made up of natural ingredients because I believe they have the best properties in them to help your skin. One of my favourite brands currently & that I have only recently started trying is a brand called "Beauty Kitchen". Beauty Kitchen are an award winning brand who are 100% natural & affordable. All of their recipes contain 100% pure essential oils & natural ingredients. Recently I have started to get some pretty dry areas to my face especially around my nose area. I come across the Abyssinian Oil range from Beauty Kitchen & found it had all the properties I needed to help my skin. Abyssinian Oil is high in Omega 9 & is meant to be more effective than Argan oil. It penetrates the outer layer skin & nourishes the skin while protecting it from dehydration which is the main cause for wrinkles & fine lines. It is suitable for all skin types which makes it even better.

So the 3 products I got to try from this range were:

Abyssinian Oil Facial Cleansing Balm 
It is naturally fragrance free & non greasy. So it doesn't leave your skin feeling like you need to wash it again. The cleansing balm soaks into your skin & removes any impurities & make up to leave your skin feeling clean & soft. It also contains Shea butter along with the oil to help restore the skins natural elasticity. The cleansing balm is so easy to use! 

*You simply take a pea size amount & warm the product up in with your finger.
*Massage the product all over the face concentrating on the problem areas.
*Remove the balm with a facial cloth or Konjac sponge (which I have previously posted about my one from the Konjac sponge company).

You can use the balm morning & night 

Abyssinian Oil Aroma Facial Concentrate
This as the name states is an oil, I am normally pretty funny about trying facial oils simply because in areas of my face my skin can be pretty oily. But I have found that this facial oil is moisturising & doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy & oily like some oils do. The oil not only contains Abyssinian Oil but it also contains Magnolia Oil & Palmarosa which helps to balance the production of sebum. With the facial oil you:

*Massage 3-4 drops onto cleansed skin & apply using circular movements.

You can also apply the facial oil before applying make up as it creates a great skin smoothing base!

Abyssinian Oil Night Halo Potent Sleep Mask
This mask helps hydrate, cleanse & refresh your skin while you sleep! The mask absorbs into you skin overnight leaving your skin so refreshed when you wake up. It is definitely one of those great skin pick me ups! This product has to be my most favourite of the three I have tried. All you have to do is:

*Take a good amount of product & apply it all over the face & to your neck. The balm forms a very thin layer over your skin & smells so good.
*Then in the morning simply wash off the mask & use the cleansing balm to wake up your skin.

All of these products are just so rich & nourishing & have definitely helped my skin become more moisturised.
