Hair care struggle

20:07pm
Here we are at the start of a new week once again. I swear I blink & the weekends just disappear!
Does anyone else feel like that, or is that just me? Then it's back to the Monday morning struggling to get out of bed & back to work. Well for me the Monday-Friday office job it certainly is. But I cannot complain getting weekends as my time.

I think one thing I haven't ever blogged about before is hair care items. I have not once mentioned about products I use or like. I think there is a reason behind that, that no one actually really knows to be honest because it's not really something I don't think I've ever really spoken about to anyone but my family. But recently thanks to another blogger I have realised I'm not the only one to suffer from it....

For people that have read my blog, or know me know I have suffered from anxiety & depression for some time. It is nothing like it used to me months ago but at times I do struggle to come to terms with it & to me it's like a ticking time bomb I just don't know when it's going to happen again & it's going to reoccur. I've learnt how to deal with it & what to do to channel my thoughts into something else but it can still be difficult especially if things in my life seen a mess. But also from a young age (as long as I can remember,I think it was in primary school in fact)  I was bullied. From that day it first started I started pulling my hair out so bad I used to pull clumps of hair out in stress. My mum took me to the doctors & I was given a cream to help make it regrown & I had to wear my hair in a different parting to cover up the patch of hair missing. My hair did regrown but since then I have seemed to have struggled in leaving my hair alone & I do admit I pull strands of it out. It is called Trichotillomania, which is an impulse-control disorder, a psychological condition where the person is unable to stop themselves carrying out a particular action. I think that is why now my hair takes so long to grow & is shorter on one side. It's such a bad habit to get into & also a hard one to stop. I cannot even tell you as to why I even do it I just do. I keep wanting to try & find something to stop it or find a shampoo which can help hair regrowth abit at least. I do not have patches missing I just struggle in my hair growing quickly due to the strain I've put on my hair. So I guess that is why I don't really speak of hair care stuff at all. Because I do not really like my hair & also the struggle of Trichotillomania is pretty embarrassing to admit. Because I just feel it's something else people will think I'm odd for & abit of a freak. But I guess these things need to be spoken of in order to help.

I love the find a good shampoo & conditioner. I have tried out several brands before & yes I do change my shampoo & conditioner often because if I use the same one too often for too long it makes my hair start going greasy & it seems to stop helping my hair & just makes it feel disgusting!

I have before come across a brand OGX, I used the argan oil of Morocco after coming across it in boots on a 3 for 2 offer. I had never used argan oil before but it made my hair feel so soft & clean after. I also have pretty wavy, thick, wirey feel hair. The slightest bit of moisture in the air & that's it my hair goes poofy & no longer stays straight after straightening it. It can be so very annoying! Especially after spending so long on it. But this shampoo helped keep it less frizzy & also made it easier after blow drying it not to feel so full & thick. So recently as my hair is pretty dry I have come across another from the OGX range - Coconut water. I'm not a fan of coconut to eat but that smell of it I do not mind.
I got the shampoo, conditioner & also hydrating oil. All in the coconut water range. The coconut water is meant to help rehydrate & supercharge your hair to transform dry, parched hair into silky, shiny perfection! So this sounds perfect to try & rehydrate my hair!
I cannot wait to get trying this! The shampoo & conditioner you as you normally would any other, & the hydration oil you spray on damp hair after you have washed it, ensuring you spray it evenly & then blow dry. You can also spray a mist all over after to help add shine to your hair.

I shall definitely keep you posted on how it does to my hair!
Is there anyone else who suffers with Trichotillomania? If so have you got any tips how you cope or what shampoo you use if it is a special one?

Take care,
Love Lottie
